Report: Female Cowboys fan had 'blood running down my cheek' after assault by Eagles fans | Sports News |
News for Dallas, Texas | Dallas Morning News
"A woman in Pennsylvania wearing a Tony Romo T-Shirt was assaulted by two men -- both wearing Eagles jerseys -- as she walked near her home on Friday, Bethlehem police told theAllentown (Pa.) Morning Call newspaper.
The victim, Jaime Wert, 27, said told the paper she will continue to wear her love for the Cowboys on her sleeve.
"It won't stop me," she said Monday. "I wore it on Saturday and the Cowboys won."
The newspaper cited a police report that contained the reported details of the event.
Police said it happened around 9:30 p.m. Wert told police she was wearing her T-shirt that features the Cowboys quarterback when she heard someone yell, ''Hey, Romo!''
Wert said when she turned around, one of the men slapped her in the face. She said her assailants were both wearing Eagles jerseys.
"I really freaked out because I could feel the blood running down my cheek,'' Wert told the paper. "I kicked the one guy in his leg and they both ran.''
Wert, who had minor cuts on her face, told police she didn't see the men's faces clearly enough to give a detailed description."
I screamed about this on Facebook last night and I figured I might as well share with y'all too. Apparently, liking a different (and superior) football team is license to go around assaulting people, like my fellow Cowboys fan, 27yr old Jaime. Now, I'm not sure what was going through these assholes' minds when they decided "hey, that person is wearing Cowboys gear, let's hit her!", but the shit is tragically sad. I'll be the first to get in an argument about football...hell, I love some good gridiron banter...but that's kinda where it should end. (I say "should" because I actually did come to blows with a loudmouth Igglefan before...he started it!) There's no reason to persecute somebody for their football beliefs.
I mean, I haven't even gotten to talking about the fact that it was...you know...a defenseless chick. They couldn't even slap the woman to her face...these baby back bitches came up behind her and snuck her basically. So what she's wearing a Cowboys shirt...heckle, jeer, comment and keep it moving. I wonder why these fuck boys didn't try that fly shit on a dude with a Cowboys shirt on (like, oh, say...me...). I'm thinking it's because they're...um...testicularly challenged (aka pussy). Furthering my contention that they were bitch-manufactured, she kicked one in the leg and both these shook ones turned tail. Way to defend yourself, Jaime.
All in all, this episode pretty much sums up what I hate about Eagles fans (most of em...a few are tolerable, and a couple I actually like for some reason or other...) they're rude, classless, loud, bitter (50+ years of losing will do that to you...)and a few tend to take shit too far. I'd wager that the Eagles have the largest concentration of complete dickheads of any NFL fanbase. Even if you don't watch football you prolly know that...why the fuck do you think there's a jail IN THE STADIUM?
I just really hope as I sit here in my #9 jersey (that I wore on purpose today) that some Eagle loving jackhole is stupid enough to "Hey, Romo!" me today so I can have a valid excuse to toss a Bird watcher in front of the fuckin El. Anyway, Jaime...if you ever read this, good job and stay blue blooded...your fanhood perseverance is an inspiration to Cowboys fans nationwide. Oh, and to the 2 winners who slapped her...please don't learn from your mistake...because one day you'll do it to the wrong 'Boys fan and...well...you'll have to take those broken wings and learn to fly again once he's through with you. Just sayin.
