Coins Scattered Everywhere! (an ode to Payday)

We all hate our jobs, say you don't, you're a liar
but there's one day that always gets me inspired
that day when the compensation's aquired
for me working hard enough not to get fired
It's payday, it's payday! Now run my check bitches!
Been broke for a week, the recession is vicious
roman noodles and all other bachelor dishes
supplanted by actual groceries...delicious.



I finally have a few dollars to count
I had to my name a most shameful amount
All week dreamed of Friday, how things would be better
I fantasized about 2 coins to rub together
Can't picture my brokeness? Need visual help?
I folded a nickel, rubbed it on itself
It gets real sometimes, not everyone's rich
Last night for dinner? Salsa and stale chips...

I'm happier now and my wallet agrees
Now I can buy all the shit that I need
and also refill my prescription, indeed
(if you must know, yes, I'm talkin' bout weed...lol...)
The economy works on supply and demand
both legitimate and that of contraband
In lay terms, if you're broke you're shit out of luck
but I got paid today...I'm happy as fuck!

I'm glad I have money, ain't shit in life free
I could purchase a pot in which I could pee
with disposable income, serve my country
get out there and stimulate the economy!
I haven't spent money in so long it hurts
I can bar-hop a bit, maybe chase some skirts
I can buy a new fitted, or maybe a shirt
I could buy a new phone, but my G1 still works (:p)

I'm nobody's baller, not yet anyway
I don't front on Facebook, I'm broke, it's okay
(I seem to know many rich folk, you see
online millionaires with the same job as me
post pictures of cashed checks and brag like a jerk
Just shut the fuck up, take your dumb ass to work)
but moving on, for now I live pay to pay
but not for much longer if I have my way

I didn't go to school, don't have any skills (lol)
but I have half a job, and it pays the bills
I do need a new one, because this shit kills
but soon I'll move on to new daytime thrills ;)
That's right, umf'ers...I've got a few plans
I'm taking my life in the palms of my hands
but for today, fuckit...I'll be happy, okay?
